Floating Click Together Installation
Cork floors used to be installed in direct glue down applications. And while those floors are still available, they’ve been largely replaced by click cork floors. Like laminate floors, click HDF cork floors are floated and not attached directly to the subfloor. An underlayment is first installed, then the cork planks (or tiles) on top.
Some cork planks have the underlayment already attached, saving you a step in the installation process. However, it’s not uncommon to install an additional layer of cork underlayment. This adds comfort, noise reduction and valuable insulation.
