What is Bamboo?

Bamboo is a tall tree-like grass of the Poaceae family and of the subfamily Bambusoideae. There are about 1000 known species of bamboo growing across the world. These tropical and subtropical grasses are very important plants to the earth and its inhabitants both ecologically and economically.
