A wholly-owned subsidiary of Columbia Forest Products, Columbia Flooring is a leading manufacturer and marketer of hardwood and laminate flooring. The company brings over 40 years of expertise in hardwood veneers to every floor it produces.Founded in 1957, parent company Columbia Forest Products is North America's largest manufacturer of hardwood plywood and hardwood veneer. Employee-owned and based in Portland, Oregon, Columbia employs more than 3,500 and operates facilities in locations throughout the United States, Canada and Malaysia.
The company follows strict quality control measures from the forest to the finished product. Its veneer and plywood operations are fully integrated with in-house supply of hardwood veneers for faces and backs, as well as self-sufficient green ends for fir, poplar and aspen veneer cores.
In 1999, Columbia's Klamath Falls, Oregon, plant began producing its plywood using logs harvested from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forestland. Today, it's other facilities produce certified products as well. SmartWood, a not-for-profit subsidiary of the Rain Forest Alliance, certifies Columbia Forest Products to FSC requirements.
