Connecticut home features a variety of hardwood flooring A home for sale in Bridgeport, Connecticut, stands apart from the neighboring houses due to its Mediterranean-style exterior, which includes white stucco walls, coral-colored shutters and trim. According to NewsTimes.com, the 13-room abode features six bedrooms, three staircases, two sun rooms and hardwood flooring.
Built in 1920, the house has undergone extensive renovations, including new wiring and plumbing, and the original plaster has been replaced by sheet rock. The interior boasts a number of arched entryways, and while much of the house features hardwood flooring, the news source reports that the type of wood varies from room to room.
Narrow-board oak flooring runs throughout much of the house, while many of the bedrooms include rich maple floors. Like many homes built in the early 20th century, this abode has a separate maids' quarters - a full bath and two rooms, which feature normal-width pine or fir flooring.
Because maintenance varies depending upon the type, installation and finish of the floor covering, the World Floor Covering Association recommends that individuals who have homes with a variety of hardwood flooring should contact the flooring manufacturers to inquire about specific cleaning products.
