Jamaican villa includes both hardwood and bamboo flooring
Jamaican villa includes both hardwood and bamboo flooring A newly built private villa, located in Negril, Jamaica, is situated on one acre of land and boasts views of the Caribbean Sea from each room. The three-bedroom abode features granite counter tops, dark wood furniture and both hardwood and bamboo flooring.
According to the Jamaica Observer, the villa's owners worked with architect Eladio Walker to create an open plan that took advantage of the beautiful views and ocean breezes. They also opted for an uncluttered, contemporary interior, and chose an off-white color scheme for a free-flowing feel, punctuated with accent colors and dark hardwood flooring.
The master bedroom, however, utilizes bamboo, the news source reports. A custom-built four-poster bamboo bed fills the room, accompanied by a pair of night tables. Instead of featuring hardwood flooring, the bedroom boasts polished bamboo flooring.
Both hardwood and bamboo are excellent floor coverings, as both are extremely durable and easy to maintain. While bamboo is a fast-growing grass, not a hardwood, bamboo flooring possesses a similar aesthetic to wood floors, and both materials can be dyed or finished to match a room's pre-existing decor.
