Habitat for Humanity homes include laminate flooring A Calgary-based chapter of Habitat for Humanity is partnering with local home builders Trico Homes to provide economical housing to some families who might not otherwise be able to afford it. The pair has made 65 homes available to the program thus far, and has received 59 applications, the Calgary Herald reports.
"This is a unique program for Habitat, but it fits with our mission to build affordable housing," manager of family services at Habitat for Humanity-Calgary Lisa Clement told the news source. "This has been one of the first opportunities for us to take on attainable home ownership."
Many of the homes feature a similar design. One such three bedroom abode included family room with an electric fireplace, a kitchen with maple cabinets and black appliances and a main floor that boasted laminate flooring.
According to TLC.com, laminate flooring is a popular material that it offers a wide range of benefits. The material can replicate the look of many different types of wood and stone at a cost-efficient price, and is exceptionally durable.
