Famous soap opera writer's home features cork flooring Kay Alden, who gained fame as the head writer for The Young and the Restless and is currently the co-head writer for The Bold and the Beautiful, is auctioning off her lavish four-bedroom condominium, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The auction is slated for July 27, and the abode features a long list of luxurious furnishings. According to the the news sources some of the highlights are a 78-foot-long living room, a billiard and game room and master suite with a spa. The space also boasts a gourmet kitchen that is complete with pear wood cabinetry and cork flooring.
Homeowners who are looking to install new floors in their homes may want to consider cork flooring, as the material boats a large number of advantages.
Aside from providing homeowners with a great aesthetic, it treads lightly on the environment. TLC.com reports that the material is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree, which is able to regenerate itself relatively easily.
