Michigan home adds bamboo flooring to extensive renovation
Michigan home adds bamboo flooring to extensive renovation When Sandy Kreger wanted to put an addition on her Michigan home she ran in to a bit of a problem. Despite having a one and a half acres of land, it seemed like she had nowhere to expand due to obstacles in every direction.
However, AnnArbor.com reports that architect Keith Fineberg found some creative ways around the constraints and provided Kreger with a new and improved abode. The biggest change that Fineberg made in the 500-foot addition was replacing a small, suffocating kitchen with a more open floor plan, complete with a breakfast bar.
Although Kreger wanted to renovate her house on a budget, the news source added that she wanted her remodel to be green. She used carpeting made from recycled materials and used bamboo flooring in the kitchen and exercise room.
According to TLC.com, bamboo flooring is one of the most sustainable flooring options available today. Along with being sustainable it is also fashionable, as the material can easily be adapted to any style and dyed in a wide variety of colors.
